The Story of Prophet Noah (peace be upon him)

In ancient times, people lived on Earth in a way that was not right. They had strayed from the worship of God and instead worshipped idols and false gods. Chaos reigned on Earth, with sin and transgression rampant, and people had no respect for the prophets or God's messages.

In those difficult times, God Almighty sent His Prophet Noah (peace be upon him) to call his people to monotheism and to worship God alone, without any partners. Noah (peace be upon him) was among the most just and truthful of people. He loved goodness and desired to guide his people, but he faced a great challenge because the people clung to their false beliefs and refused to believe in God's message.

Noah's Call to His People

Noah (peace be upon him) began calling people to God, urging them with all the strength and patience he possessed. He said to them, "O my people! Worship God; you have no deity other than Him. Indeed, I am to you a clear warner." But he received the most vile responses from his people. They mocked and ridiculed him, saying, "You are a human being like us, so what makes you better than us?"

His call continued for many days, and Noah did not despair. He continued to call them day and night, telling them that God would punish them if they persisted in their sins. But he saw that most people did not believe him; instead, they turned away from him and became even more stubborn in their error.

The Few Responses

After many years of calling, only a few people believed in Noah's message, while the majority remained obstinate and defiant. But Noah did not stop calling them, and he exerted every effort to remind them of the consequences of persisting in disbelief. He felt compassion for them, saying, "I only want what is best for you, but you are not capable of it."

The Flood

As time passed, Noah's people continued to mock him. Then God's command came, when God told Noah to build a large ark on the mountain. God said to him, “Construct the ark under Our watchful eyes and with Our inspiration, and do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are to be drowned.” When Noah, peace be upon him, began building the ark, his people would pass by him and mock him, saying, “You’re building a ship in the desert? What will you do with it?”

But Noah continued building the ark, and at the same time, he continued his mission. He told them, “When God’s command comes, the flood and salvation will be only in this ark.”

The Heavy Rain and the Flood

Then came the day when God commanded the sky to begin pouring rain, and water began to flow from the earth and from the sky. The water gathered on the earth, covering everything. The ark that Noah had built was the only place where the believers could be saved.

So Noah, peace be upon him, gathered in the ark all those who had believed in him, along with some animals of every kind, as God had commanded him. But the disbelievers did not believe, and they were facing their end. The waters rose and gradually covered the earth until all those who had not boarded the ark were drowned.

In the midst of this immense flood, one of Noah's sons tried to save himself, saying, "I will climb a high mountain to protect me from the water!" But Noah told him, "There is no refuge today from the decree of God." So the son drowned with the rest of the disbelievers.

The Salvation of Noah and Those with Him

The ark continued to sail upon the turbulent waters, and the believers were safe. After a long period of the flood, God commanded the winds to subside and the waters to recede. The ark came to rest on Mount Judi. There, God commanded Noah to disembark from the ark with the believers, so they could begin a new life on earth.

God said to Noah, peace be upon him, "Embark therein with its fish and its saddle. Indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful." When Noah and his followers left Earth, they began building new communities after God had cleansed it of corruption.

A Lesson from the Story of Noah

The story of Noah (peace be upon him) is one of the most remarkable examples of the prophets' patience and their unwavering faith in God despite all hardships. Noah's mission was long and arduous, yet he never despaired. The story also demonstrates how God punishes those who reject faith and ignore His messengers, while simultaneously showing mercy to the believers and providing them with salvation.

The story of Noah teaches us the importance of patience and proves that God does not neglect His sincere servants. It also teaches us not to take our faith lightly and to hold fast to the truth even if those around us deny it.
