Summary of the interpretation

of the verses of Surat Al-Baqarah

from verse 83 to verse 88

The verses talk about the covenant

The verses continue to show the extent of the insistence of the Children of Israel on breaking the covenant,

which is the binding covenant between the believers and the Lord of the servants, Allah Almighty, which makes the group of believers one unit.

As if it were one soul.

The covenant is belief in Allah Almighty and in the message of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The covenant is belief in nature,

Where God Almighty made the children of Adam bear witness that He is their Lord,

so they acknowledged that in truth, and this testimony was for them to acknowledge it themselves on the Day of Resurrection and not forget it at that time.

Likewise, the covenant is the covenant of belief in God and all His messengers and all religions and all books and acting upon us in the heavenly books from God’s commands to do good and avoid what God has forbidden of evil, and from the manifestations of enjoining what is right in the covenant

And what must be done is kindness to parents, relatives, orphans and the poor, and speaking kindly to people, establishing prayer and giving zakat.

Then we move to the manifestations of the prohibition of evil in the covenant

so that the believer avoids it, such as Allah’s prohibition of the believers from shedding blood, killing each other, and expelling each other from their homes.

Despite what they witnessed and acknowledged, they then turned away from it and always disobeyed Allah’s command, as Allah the Almighty forbade fighting, so they were killed. Then Allah the Almighty forbade them from expelling each other from their homes, rather they expelled each other, Allah the Almighty forbade them from enmity with each other, and that they should not expel a group of them from their homes, rather

they did some of what

contradicts Allah’s command, they did what Allah forbade of evil, and avoided what Allah commanded of good, and if they found prisoners among them they ransomed them with money, because it was mentioned in the heavenly books that whoever was taken prisoner from them in war must be released with money,

so they believe in some of what is in the book that agrees with their desires, and they disbelieve in some of what is in the book that does not agree with their desires.

All of this is against the command of Allah Almighty. They bought the fleeting life of this world and sold the eternal Hereafter,

so Allah punished them and did not lighten their punishment, but rather they will have the most severe punishment.

And whenever a messenger came to them, some of them killed and some of them lied, and they said,

“Their hearts are closed to what is in their chests,” and they closed what was in their chests of disbelief. Allah cursed them for this disbelief.
